*** Much Respected Justice A.P.Shah***

Indian Judiciary is loosing the service of much respected Judge - Justice A.P.Shah

As part of privileged legal profession, I personally feel so sad that the Indian Judiciary is loosing the service of much respected, courageous and highly dignified judge - Justice A.P.Shah.

I had the privilege of observing the proceedings before First Bench of Madras High Court when Justice A.P.Shah was the Chief Justice.

I am very much impressed at the functioning of Justice A.P.Shah and his emotions to do something good to the society and to the profession. He has brought many changes when he was the Chief Justice of Madras High Court as everybody admits.

As I see, Justice A.P.Shah used to admire intellectuals without any hesitation and used to expect high standards from the Bar as I perceive. He shows very great interest in each and every case and keeps the proceedings alive.

Another thing I am impressed about Justice A.P.Shah is about maintaining the Court's dignity. It is very difficult to narrate as to how to maintain the dignity in the court and especially when someone acts as a judge, but, I am sure that everybody or legal professional who has the privy of observing his proceedings, will remember the importance of dignity to be maintained and as to how it is to be maintained.

Respected Justice A.P.Shah might not have been elevated to the Apex Court, but, he has gained supreme status in the minds of legal professional, intellectuals and people at large.

Dr.Abdul Kalam might not have been chosen for the second time to be a proud first citizen of this nation, but, he is there in the minds of millions of young children, youngsters, people and many in the world. Likewise, as I believe, Justice A.P.Shah will be remembered ever by the legal professionals, young lawyers or the Bar.

If a person like Justice A.P.Shah writes a book on his experiences, about the profession, about the Bar and about the needed reforms, that would be a greatest service to the profession and society.

In a time, where the dignity of legal profession and judiciary is being threatened, it is a major blow to loose the services of respected Justice A.P.Shah.

All my respect to Hon'ble Justice A.P.Shah (retd. Chief Justice of Delhi High Court).
